Helpful Information
Please allow at least 24 hours to get your confirmation if booking by email. Until you receive a confirmation, we haven't processed your hire. If in doubt for last minute travel, please phone 1800 443 400 ( 0800 443 400 from New Zealand or +61 7 3256 8366).
Our office is manned 6.30 am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 2.00pm Saturday and Sunday. (Queensland time)
RATES
Hirers are reminded that all prices are in Australian dollars and that GST of 10% is included. Prices may vary without notice due to availability or in peak seasons. However, once you have booked a car your price is fixed. Days are charged in increments of 24 hours from the time of commencement of hire. If the return time is more than 3 hours after the commencement time, an additional day will be charged.
CREDIT CARDS
Please note an amount of $500 will be frozen on your credit card for 10 working days from pickup as a security deposit for our car. Consequently, all Hirers must have possession of a valid credit card when they on-hire the car.
No current Credit Card and Drivers Licence at the time of hire, no car!
All major credit cards are accepted - Visa - Mastercard – Bankcard - Amex. A 2% (Amex 5%) surcharge applies to all credit card transactions. We do not accept Diners. All amounts charged to your credit card are in Australian dollars. If you have a non Australian credit card, your credit card supplier may charge you extra fees for handling foreign currency.
DRIVERS LICENCES
Australian, New Zealand, International, and Overseas Licences are acceptable.The licence must be able to be read in english characters. There is a $5/day charge for extra drivers. This will allow one or two more drivers to drive the hire car. Each extra driver must produce their licence at the time of hire and sign the contract.
INSURANCE
A standard Insurance excess of $2,500.00 applies, reducible to $500.00 excess on the payment of $15.00 per day. We are unable to hire vehicles to drivers aged 85 or over.
BABY SEATS
Children seats are categorised by the weight of the baby.
Birth – 9kg must have restraint or capsule (reversible)
We do not hire baby capsules, however, we have reversible seats:
Baby Seat
6 months – 4 years (approx) 8 - 18kg
Baby Seats cost $3.00 per day to hire.
Booster Seat
2 years – 7 years (or as long as the belt is across their chest) 14 – 26kg
Booster Seats cost $3.00 per day to hire.
GPS HIRE
GPS units are available for hire for $4.00 per day. Hirers are advised to carry travel insurance to cover the GPS unit as it is not covered by the vehicle Insurance. Replacement cost is $600.00 for a lost GPS.
AREA OF USE
The area of use is within 250km from Coolangatta Airport or within 300km from Brisbane Airport. You can drive unlimited kilometers within this area. Note, this includes Byron Bay to the south and Hervey Bay to the north.
YOUNG DRIVERS
Drivers must be over 21 years of age and have at least 2 years driving experience. All drivers under the age of 25 years are subject to a compulsory $15.00 per day payment to reduce their insurance excess to $800.00.
ONE WAY RENTALS
A minimum hire period of 7 days applies to one-way rentals. A relocation fee will apply
AIRPORT ACCESS LEVY
A single $32.00 payment per hire will apply
to each vehicle pick up or drop off at the airport. A surcharge of $42.00 applies to cars hired or dropped off on any Australian public holidays.
FUEL
Please return cars with the fuel at the same level as it was at the beginning of the hire period. We do not have on-site fuel facilities and we charge approximately double the pump price to cover the cost of refueling the cars.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Booking cancelled more than 7 days from pickup date - No charge
Booking cancelled in the 7 days preceding the pickup date - Charge is 1 days hire
No show - up to full price.
REFUNDS
There are no refunds for early returns.
ACCIDENTS
If you have an accident that is covered by our comprehensive insurance, we will charge you the lesser of:-
The excess you select – A$500 or A$2500
or the sum of:-
The repair costs at cost
Plus A$75 to cover the admin/paper work and the multiple vehicle movements to get it quoted, delivered and then picked up.
Plus Hire at the cheapest rate for that vehicle class for the days while the vehicle is being repaired.
